HR and Compliance Administrator

Our HR and Compliance Administrator plays a vital role in ensuring our staff are supported, our systems are sound, and our College community can focus on what matters most — the students.

We are seeking an organised, detail-oriented and proactive HR and Compliance Administrator to join our team on an ongoing basis commencing Term Three. This is a flexible role working term time only with the option to work school hours.

About the role:

•Deliver end-to-end HR administration across the full employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding to offboarding

•Maintain the College’s risk and complianceframeworks, including policies, procedures and mandatory training registers

•Manage staff records, leave entitlements and employee data in ICON/VCEA with accuracy and confidentiality

•Support the Principal and Senior Leadership with compliance monitoring, internal audits and OHS administration

•Contribute to a well-organised, people-centred culture within the College

We are looking for someone who:

•Is an experienced HR administrator with a passion for supporting people and getting the details right

•Brings strong organisational skills, advanced ICT capabilities and a high degree of confidentiality

•Has relevant HR qualifications and experience in a medium to large organisation — experience in an educational setting is highly regarded

•Is proactive, adaptable and confident working autonomously with minimal supervision and taking direction when required

•Holds a current Working with Children Check, National Police Check and First Aid Certificate

Learning Support Officer

Mercy College is a Catholic Secondary College for young women conducted in the Mercy tradition with justice, compassion, hospitality and excellence underpinning all we do.

We are currently seeking a Learning Support Officer, for a full time ongoing position commencing Monday 29 January 2024.

Learning Support Officer Position Description
  • Excellent written, oral communication and interpersonal skills including empathy, good listening skills and the ability to negotiate and liaise with parents/guardians, staff and students
  • Good understanding of administration and processes
  • Ability to:

    • work both independently as well as collaboratively, within a busy environment
    • maintain strict confidentiality and to exercise discretion and sound judgement
    • use a level of technology appropriate to the position and/or a willingness to learn other position specific software and highly developed attention to detail
  • Relevant qualifications and/or experience
  • A willingness to undertake professional development
  • Demonstrated:

    • organisational skills including the ability to prioritise, meet deadlines and use initiative

Teacher Librarian

The Teacher Librarian role is a contract position offered as a 0.4 (FTE) for Semester 2 of 2023.

Mercy College is a Catholic secondary college for young people, committed to handing on the teachings of Christ and His Church, and to living out those teachings.

In the Mercy spirit, love, compassion and service underpin all we are and do.

Ideally this will be a teacher with a specific qualification in this area of education. They will provide a broad range of digital, print, electronic and audio-visual resources to support the learning outcomes of students and support effective teaching.

The role will also involve supporting English teachers with Wide Reading programs at a junior secondary level and conducting daily library duties such as borrowing books to students, returns, shelving of resources and purchasing of resources for teaching staff.
